(2) Chiles Rellenos

The chiles en nogadas were incredible! Amazing nut sauce, perfectly cooked chicken. Reminded me of my grandmother's dish! Extremely authentic!

#25 Carne Asada

I must say that this was a great Valentine's Weekend treat for lunch. My husband treated me to lunch which was excellent. My husband had the #22 the tacos chindo it was out of this worl. If you like food with great clean flavors with margaritas to die for this is the spot for you

#15 Camarones A La Diabla (very spicy)

I noticed Ixtapa many times driving along N Barry Road, but never dined at this fine establishment until a neighbor invited my wife and me to join them for dinner. I ordered the Chiles Rellenos A La Diabla, which is a chili stuffed with cheese, steak (your choice of meat), onion, and mushrooms, topped with a spicy red sauce. I also tried the jalapeño toreados (fried jalapeños) that my neighbor ordered. Everything, including the side of fried rice and black beans was absolutely delicious. We will definitely return for more great traditional fine Mexican food at Ixtapa!

#21 (5) Tacos Tapatios

My wife and I don't like to get the same order so we can try different things. Except for the Tacos Tapatios. We both get it because it's just that good.

Quesadillas De Flor De Calabaza

We enjoyed the Tour of Mexico, with Victor hosting, and the Quesadillas De Flor De Calabaza was only one of the many sample dishes we enjoyed. Every dish was a very nice surprise, with Victor describing what each item was and how it was prepared. Every time we visit, we really enjoy allowing Victor (at the Overland Park location ) or Alejandro (at the Barry Road location) to surprise us and introduce us to all the wonderful flavors of genuine Mexican cuisine. Oh, and don't forget the magnificent Margarita Ixtapa or their superb Martini!

#34 Enchiladas En Mole

I haven't tried any other entree yet because this is so amazingly good. Moving here from Phoenix, I was worried I'd never find decent Mexican. This restaurant was an incredibly good surprise.

#29 Pork Chile Verde

Emphasis on quality! The pork was so delicious and the sauce was amazing. What a hearty delicious meal on a freezing cold day.

#14 Enchiladas De Camarones

Such amazing flavors with every dish we tried. We took the Tour of Mexico and sampled quite a few amazing dishes. Hands down a true food adventure for your mouth. We cannot wait to come back and try everything on the menu. The owner is as amazing as the food. Your mouth will be transported to a restaurant in Guadalajara Mexico and you will be amazed at the different flavor profiles.

#26 Steak Mariposa

On our third visit, way back in 2005, we told Victor that we were having a hard time deciding what to order because we knew that no matter what we would have, it would be excellent. He took our menus and simply asked what type of meat we would prefer. I chose beef. When Victor brought us our entree, he told me that he wanted me to try something that he was considering adding to the menu; Steak Mariposa. He el0quently explained the preparation of the dish. In this case, the very tender, butterflied, steak was topped with a tomatillo, onion and mushroom salsa. It instantly became my all-time favorite dish and my most frequently ordered item, unless I have Victor or Alejandro surprise me. I have had Steak Mariposa with the roasted onion tomato salsa, but I truly prefer the tomatillo, onion and mushroom salsa. Such a wonderful combination of flavors and textures! Thanks, Victor for introducing us to the best of Mexico!
